We were called to the town of Killarney in the Southern Downs Regional Council area 12 years ago.
Killareny is in Queensland very near the border of New South Wales. It has a population of 1,200 people. It is mainly agricultural land and was originally known for the vast supply of lumber for the timber industry.
Killarney is also the loctaion of the head of the Murray Darling River system - Spring Creek. Spring Creek runs into Queen Mary Falls which is a popular tourist destination in the area.
The Southern Downs Regional Council is comprised of 4 major towns - Warwick, Stanthorpe, Allora and Killarney with pockets of smaller villages here and there. All in all there is a total population of around 35,000 people.
This region is a redemptive gift of "servant" region.
